Do you accept insurance?
This is a private-pay practice. Working outside insurance networks means your evaluation is scheduled promptly, the length of your care is decided between us rather than by a utilization review, and no diagnosis is reported to an insurer. A superbill is provided after payment so you can seek out-of-network reimbursement if your plan offers it.
How do I use a superbill?
A superbill is an itemized receipt with the codes your insurer needs. You submit it to your plan directly, usually through their member portal or app. Reimbursement depends entirely on your out-of-network benefits, so it is worth calling the number on your card and asking what percentage of out-of-network psychological testing they cover.
Can a full evaluation really be done virtually?
Yes. The measures used here are validated for remote administration, and research comparing teleneuropsychological testing with in-person testing has found the results highly consistent for the domains most often in question. You are seen by the specialist rather than by whoever is nearest, testing happens in your own environment, and there is no travel day built into an already long process. If a particular question requires a measure that must be given in person, that is said plainly at the consultation rather than discovered later.
What do I need on my end?
A private room where you will not be interrupted, a reasonably current computer with a webcam, and a stable internet connection. Some tasks use a keyboard or mouse; others simply require you to talk and look at the screen. Any materials you need are sent in advance with instructions.
How long does an evaluation take?
Most evaluations involve an interview, a testing day of three to six hours, and a feedback session. Scoring and report writing typically take two to three weeks after testing. The full process from first call to written report usually runs four to six weeks.
Will my report be accepted for accommodations?
Yes. Reports are written to meet documentation standards for university disability offices, standardized testing boards, and workplace accommodation requests, with specific and defensible recommendations rather than general statements.
Can adults be diagnosed with ADHD?
Absolutely, and many are — often after years of compensating successfully. A thorough adult evaluation distinguishes ADHD from anxiety, depression, sleep disruption, trauma, and ordinary overload, which matters because those conditions respond to very different interventions.
Do I need a full neuropsychological battery, or is a standard ADHD evaluation enough?
A standard ADHD evaluation is sufficient for most adults seeking clarity about attention and executive function. Comprehensive neuropsychological testing is added when there are questions about memory, learning disorders, processing speed, a medical or neurological history, or when a school or employer requires broader documentation. This is decided together at your consultation.
Do you see children?
Evaluation services focus on adolescents and adults. If a younger child needs testing, you will be pointed toward a colleague who specializes in that age range rather than stretched into a poor fit.
Where are you licensed to evaluate?
New York, Alabama, and any state participating in PSYPACT (APIT Provider #20538). Licensure is determined by where you are physically located during the appointment, so it is worth mentioning at the consultation if you travel or split your year between states.
Do you provide ongoing therapy?
This is a specialty evaluation practice, not a therapy practice. A small number of continuing sessions are available to patients who have completed an evaluation, but when ongoing treatment is what you need, you will receive a considered referral to a clinician who does that work well.
